The incident took place around 5 a.m., in Levittown on Tuesday, Aug. 30.
According to detectives, police responded to 301 Newbridge Road for a larceny in progress. Upon confronting the subject, Scott Raba, age 51, of Seaford, he fled northbound on Newbridge Road into a wooded area.
Police set up a perimeter and were able to locate Raba. He was placed under arrest without further incident, police said.
Raba was charged with:
- Auto stripping
- Possession of burglar tools
- Grand larceny
- Criminal mischief
He will be arraigned Wednesday, Aug. 31, in Hempstead.
Raba was previously arrested on Monday, Aug. 8, for larceny and was issued a desk appearance ticket, and released on his own recognizance.
